A book about the destruction of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was presented in Kyiv. The publication combines investigative journalism and analytics, revealing the details of the Armed Forces operation.

This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The presentation of the book "Hunting for the cruiser Moscow" - a large-scale study on one of the most famous military operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a full-scale war - took place in the capital. It was written by Andriy Bulavin and Oleksandr Chudnovets.

The publication describes in detail how Ukrainian military, engineers, and intelligence officers jointly realized the destruction of the Russian cruiser Moskva, a symbolic and strategically important ship of the aggressor. The authors have collected not only facts but also analysis in the book, combining journalistic investigation with a thorough study of the operation.

According to the press service, the book tells not just the story of the attack, but also honors the professionalism and courage of Ukrainian soldiers. The book is already considered an important testament to an era that is changing the world.

The cruiser Moskva, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, was destroyed in April 2022. According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the ship was hit by two Neptune missiles, which caused the detonation of a warhead and critical damage.

Initially, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that the fire on board was extinguished and the cruiser remained afloat. Later, the Russians admitted that the ship sank in a storm while being towed to Sevastopol.

Russia concealed information about the losses: only nine days later, they reported one dead, 27 missing and 396 evacuated sailors.

Recently, Ukrainian Navy Commander Neizhpapa shared the details of the destruction of the Russian Black Sea Fleet flagship Moskva. Although two missile hits seemed unlikely at first, it was the combination of several key factors that led to the sinking of the ship.

One of the missiles hit the galley, the largest room on the cruiser, under which the engine room was located. The forward engine room was located near the ship's central command post. According to Oleksiy Neizhpapa, this victory had not only tactical but also a powerful symbolic meaning, as it was the main ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, not just one of the cruisers.
