<span><span><span><span><span><span>The Russian carrier "Grand Service Express" has once again extended restrictions on "Tavria" train service to the annexed Crimea, shortening their route to Kerch only. The decision was made amid strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the peninsula’s railway infrastructure.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Through September 21, trains will run only to or from the Kerch-Pivdenna Novyi Park station.</span></span></span></span></span></span>
<span><span><span><span><span><span>Initially, these restrictions were scheduled to be lifted on August 31, but were later extended through September 14. Now they have been extended for another week. As a result, passengers must transfer to buses to travel from Kerch to other cities on the peninsula. </span></span></span></span></span></span>
Russian authorities attribute the changes to “technical reasons” and decisions by the operational headquarters, without mentioning damage to infrastructure.
Earlier, the Russian railway carrier “Grand Service Express” temporarily suspended ticket sales to occupied Crimea for most dates in October. The company attributed this to a schedule change and the switch to an exclusively daytime train schedule for safety reasons.
The advance booking period fortheremaining falltripswas reduced from 90 to 45 days. In addition to security concerns and the shift to daytime operations, the occupying authorities cited track repair work on the Kerch Railway as the reason for this.
