During the construction of a shelter at a high school in the Mykolaiv region, irregularities amounting to more than 900,000 hryvnias were discovered

This was reported by the Southern Office of the State Audit Service in the Mykolaiv region.

Specialists conducted an audit of procurement at the Prybuzh Lyceum, which includes a gymnasium and an elementary school, for the period from April 2025 to April 2026.

According to the audit findings, violations totaling more than 900,000 hryvnias were identified and rectified during the audit itself, the office’s press service reported.

The main violations involved overstating the scope and cost of construction work during the construction of a radiation shelter.

According to the auditors, unnecessary materials and work totaling 768 thousand hryvnias were unjustifiably included in the certificates of completion.

In addition, certain tasks involving the priming of metal surfaces were unnecessarily duplicated, resulting in additional expenses of 132,000 hryvnias.

These violations also led to an unjustified increase in expenses for technical supervision services.

During the audit, the contractor rectified the identified violations without additional funding. Specifically, at its own expense, the contractor performed additional work and supplied equipment, including the installation of paving with patterned elements, metal door units, shower pans, and water tanks.

An administrative offense report was filed against the lyceum’s authorized representative for violations in the area of public procurement. The Voznesensk District Prosecutor’s Office was informed of the audit’s findings.

Meanwhile, in Mykolaiv, the Department of Housing and Communal Services decided to acquire its own shelter—it plans to spend over 16.6 million hryvnias from the city budget to renovate a basement into a protective structure.
