A resident of Novoraysk community in Kherson region was sentenced to 6 years in prison for participating in the organization and holding of a pseudo-referendum

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that the prosecutors of the Beryslav District Prosecutor's Office of the Kherson region found the local resident guilty of collaboration (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She was sentenced to 6 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold positions in state and local government bodies and engage in activities related to the electoral process for a period of 10 years.

It was proved that in September 2022, the convicted person participated in the work of the so-called "election commission" created by the occupation authorities to hold a pseudo-referendum on secession from Ukraine and the accession of the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region to Russia. As a member of the illegally created commission, she visited the homes of residents of Kostyrka and Novoraysk villages in Beryslav district, urging them to vote in favor of the aggressor country, issued "ballots" and kept records of those who voted.

The woman will be kept in custody until the verdict enters into force. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU investigators in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that the "head" of the occupation department of a health care facility in Kalanchak would be tried. The investigation established that in August 2022, the accused began to cooperate with the occupiers and took the position of "head" of the so-called "Kalanchak branch of the Skadovsk interdistrict department of the State Budgetary Health Care Institution Kherson Regional Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology".
