Almost 300 million in favor of private entities were attempted to be recovered from the Kherson region budget

The Kherson region prevented the recovery of almost UAH 300 million from the regional budget in favor of private entities.

The report says that the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office prevented the recovery of almost UAH 300 million from the regional budget in favor of private entities.

It is noted that in 2016, the prosecutor's office decided to enter into a case in the interests of the state, which was heard in court at the suit of two private structures for compensation for material and moral damage for the integral property complex "Kherson Airport".

The post reports that in 2012, the territorial community of Kherson region lost ownership of the property due to illegal actions of private individuals. At that time, the prosecutor's office defended the interests of the state in the Kherson Regional Economic Court, returning the property to the community. Since then, private entities have been trying to get monetary compensation for the seized property by filing a lawsuit.

The press service added that in June 2024, based on the arguments of the prosecutor's office, the Kyiv City Commercial Court dismissed the claims of private entities.

Earlier it was reported that in Kherson, the director of an enterprise tried to embezzle almost 150 thousand hryvnias while repairing a shelter. The investigation established that the accused, when concluding a contract for the repair of the shelter in Kherson, stated that he was a value added tax payer. After completing the work, he entered false information in the acts of work performed regarding the amount to be reimbursed as VAT. However, the company is not a VAT payer and cannot claim such a refund.

Also, during the restoration of Posad-Pokrovsky in Kherson region, it was planned to spend more than five million without any reason.
