Air strike on village in Odesa region causes 17 million worth of contamination

Specialists of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District investigated the consequences of the shelling of Petrivka village in the Liubashiv community of Odesa region, which damaged private houses.

This was reported by the press service of the inspectorate.

State environmental inspectors of the Southwestern District inspected the area after the shelling. They recorded the contamination of land with a total area of over 800 square meters. The amount of damage caused is over UAH 17.6 million.

All the materials were transferred to the Operational Headquarters of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine to be included in the unified register of damage caused by the aggression.

Then, for the fourth night in a row, Russians massively attacked Odesa region with attack drones. Energy facilities and residential buildings in the suburban area of Odesa were damaged, and on March 7, 16 private houses in the Podil district of Odesa region were damaged by a missile attack, the regional prosecutor's office reported.

Earlier, experts from the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southwestern District investigated the consequences of the April 21 shelling that damaged residential areas in the Khadzhybey district of Odesa. A multi-storey residential building and a sports complex were damaged as a result of the shelling. During the inspection, the land plots with a total area of more than 300 square meters were found to be contaminated. The amount of damage caused amounted to almost UAH 10 million.

Earlier, farms in Odesa region were damaged in a nighttime air attack by Russian forces on April 19.

Fires and civilian casualties were also the result of an air attack on Odesa by the Russian army on April 14. The strikes caused fires at several addresses.

On the night of March 28, 2025 (from 18:00 on March 27), the enemy attacked with 163 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitator drones. As of 09:00, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the downing of 89 Shahed attack UAVs (and other types of drones) in the south, north, and center of the country. 51 enemy imitator drones disappeared from the radar without any negative consequences.
