In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the occupation authorities are increasing pressure on young people and local residents.
According to activists of the Yellow Ribbon movement, universities in the TOT have introduced a plan to recruit students for contract service in the Russian army. In particular, each educational institution is required to have at least 2% of students sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the activists, the campaign has already begun, particularly at DonNTU. The process involves the administration and professors offering students "benefits" such as transferring to the state budget or simplified graduation after service.
At the same time, university administrators are threatened with dismissal if they fail to meet the set targets. The movement emphasizes that under the guise of "voluntary contracts," there is actually coercion to participate in the war.
At the same time, the occupation authorities have intensified filtration measures in the TOT of Kherson region. In particular, massive searches are being conducted in the settlements of Chornyanka, Askania Nova, Chaplynka and Kalanchak.
During the inspections, they examine documents, personal belongings and electronic devices of local residents. The occupiers are checking browser history, messenger correspondence, contacts, and social media activity.
Also, according to activists, during such events, interruptions in mobile communications and the Internet are recorded.
Earlier, Intent wrote that the occupation administration has intensified its work on forced passportization in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. It involved young people in these actions.
In addition, the Russian occupation authorities began issuing Russian passports to local residents. Such cases have been reported, in particular, in Chaplynka, Henichesk, and Skadovsk.
According to the occupation administration, these documents can be used to travel abroad. A person has to show a Russian passport when leaving the territory of Russia, and then present other documents at the border with other states. In this way, residents of the occupied territories may try to travel to European countries, as well as to Turkey or the South Caucasus.
There, according to experts, people can apply to Ukrainian diplomatic missions to restore or reissue Ukrainian documents. At the same time, Russian passports issued in the occupied territories are not recognized by Ukraine and most countries.
