The court sentenced a woman who started working for the Russian Federation in occupied Crimea. She took the position of a "world judge". She was tried for collaboration.

This was reported by the press service of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office.

A 39-year-old native of one of the villages of Kamin-Kashyrsky district, who lived and now lives in the temporarily occupied Yalta, in November 2023 voluntarily agreed to take the position of a so-called "world judge" in the occupation court established in Crimea.

Prosecutors proved that the convict actively helped to strengthen the power of the aggressor state: she made decisions in an illegal court, acted as a representative of the occupation regime and implemented its legal policy.

The Lutsk City District Court sentenced her to 13 years in prison. In addition, she was banned from holding positions in state and municipal structures for 15 years and her property was confiscated.

Two former judges of the Sudak and Kerch city courts of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea were also found guilty of treason. In court, prosecutors proved that after the occupation of the peninsula, the convicts betrayed their oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine and joined the enemy.

In addition, an occupation judge who prosecuted Ukrainians in Crimea was sentenced to 13 years in prison for treason. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea submitted to the court an indictment against two former SBU officers who, after the occupation of the peninsula, defected to Russia and began working for the Russian Federal Security Service in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. They are accused of harassing Ukrainian journalists, illegal entry into homes, conducting searches, and treason.
