Fortresses and historical monuments
A fortress is a fortified defensive structure designed to protect territory and control strategic positions. Ukraine has preserved many historical fortresses that are important architectural and archaeological monuments, including the Akkerman Fortress in Odesa, the Izmail Fortress, and others. These sites often become subjects of historical research, restoration, and virtual preservation, especially in conditions of military threats. Fortresses play a significant role in understanding the history of the region and its cultural heritage.
