Russian attack drones caused explosions and destruction in Moldova

On the morning of October 3, five drones flew over Moldova as Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. Explosions were heard in several regions of the country, and police found drone debris.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

According to the Air Operations Service of the Moldovan National Army, five drones flew through the country’s airspace between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. They were spotted near Novi Aneni, Ștefan Voda, Hîncești, Tudori, and Caușani.

Afterward, residents of several districts reported hearing explosions. Specifically, they were heard in Krokmaz, Delacau, Pugaceni, Novi Aneni, Bozieni, Hincesti, Dubovca, Constantinovca, and Causani.

According to the Moldovan police, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scenes to investigate the circumstances. In the Caușani area, following a report of an explosion, police discovered drone debris and thick smoke.

Drone fragments were also found near Dubovka and Hincesti, and another piece of debris was discovered in the Novoeanen district between the villages of Delacau and Pugaceni.

Another explosion occurred near the village of Krokmaz in the Ștefan Voda district. There, vegetation caught fire in a vineyard, and windows were damaged in the agricultural brigade’s building. According to preliminary reports, no one was injured.

Law enforcement officers continue to work at the scenes and investigate the circumstances of the incidents. Residents are urged not to approach drone debris or other suspicious objects.

And on the night of September 30, at least three drones entered Moldovan territory amid massive Russian attacks on Ukraine. One of them crashed, while another crossed the border through the territory of unrecognized Transnistria.
