An explosion occurred in Moldova’s Ștefan Voda district on the afternoon of August 9. At the site of the explosion, law enforcement officers found fragments belonging to a combat drone.

This was reported by NewsMaker, citing police sources.

A fire broke out at the site where the drone crashed. No one was injured in the explosion. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

Earlier, on August 8 at around 5 a.m., a drone of unknown origin entered Bulgarian airspace and exploded near an international gas pipeline shortly after crossing the border with Romania. There were no casualties or damage to buildings.

Bulgarian Prime MinisterRumen Radevstated thatthe explosionoccurred approximately 200 meters from a Romanian compressor station and approximately 1 kilometer from a Bulgarian compressor station on the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline. It was not detected or identified while flying through either Romanian or Bulgarian airspace.

Radu Miruce, Romania’s acting defense minister, stated that Russia has changed its drone deployment tactics. In his view, this trend will continue, so they will have to constantly adapt.

When asked whether Russia is deliberately attacking Romanianterritory, Miruce replied that he could not confirm this. He noted that the drone flew in a straight line and did not make any zigzags.
