Odessa was attacked this morning; one person was killed

On the morning of September 4, Russia launched an attack on Odesa. As a result of the attack, one person was killed, five others were injured, and residential buildings and cars were damaged.

This was reported by Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration.

According to him, initial reports indicated three injured people, who were immediately provided with the necessary assistance.

It later became known that one person was killed as a result of the morning attack.

As specified by the State Emergency Service, apartments on the 6th through 8th floors of a nine-story residential building in Odesa were damaged by the strikes. The blast wave and debris damaged windows and facades of neighboring high-rise buildings, as well as 28 parked cars.

At other locations, a two-story residential building and a non-residential building were destroyed, and nearby cars were damaged.

Fires broke out at the sites of the strikes but were quickly extinguished by emergency responders.

The number of casualties subsequently rose.

“One person was killed, and five others were injured,” the State Emergency Service reported.

State Emergency Service psychologists were on site at the locations of the incidents. Twenty-six rescue workers and six pieces of equipment were deployed to address the aftermath of the attack.

According to the prosecutor’s office, a 60-year-old man was killed as a result of the enemy attack. Five other people were injured, including a 16-year-old boy, three women aged 22 to 89, and a 45-year-old man.

According to law enforcement officials, the Russian armed forces carried out a massive attack using KAB bombs and strike drones on residential areas in the Odesa district.

The strikes damaged the windows of three nine-story apartment buildings, 28 parked cars, a private residence, and an administrative building.

At the scene, law enforcement officers are documenting the aftermath of the attack and collecting evidence of war crimes that resulted in the loss of life. A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Odesa is subjected to daily enemy attacks using various types of weapons—the enemy strikes with guided aerial bombs, ballistic and cruise missiles, “Banderole” missiles, and “Shahed” strike drones.

For instance, as a result of enemy shelling on September 3 in Odesa, apartments in a 21-story residential building were damaged. Seventeen people were injured, including three children.

On the night of September 2, Odesa came under a massive attack, resulting in at least eight people being injured, including a child. Two of the wounded were hospitalized. Residential buildings, cars, offices, and two educational institutions were also damaged during that attack.
