A local woman was arrested in Odesa for high treason. She passed the coordinates of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Russian special services and distributed pro-Russian materials online.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

At the request of law enforcement officers, the court took into custody without the right to bail a 52-year-old woman from Odesa who is suspected of serious crimes against the national security of Ukraine.

She is charged with high treason, incitement to national hatred and justification of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine under Part 2 of Article 111, Part 1 of Article 161, Part 2 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the investigation, the suspect shared pro-Russian views and sought contacts with agents of the aggressor country.

From May to July 2025, the woman established communication with representatives of the Russian special services and passed them important military information. Among the data that got to the enemy were the coordinates of air defense facilities, the location of military units and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, she actively distributed pro-Russian materials on Telegram, published comments and her own texts in which she supported the ideology of the aggressor state and justified its armed aggression against Ukraine.

At the end of last year, a court in Odesa sentenced a current and a former military officer to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for treason. In October 2022, an FSB officer in the Bryansk region recruited a man who had just been mobilized into the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who later involved his friend.

One of them passed on to his friend the geo-position of the military unit and the location of the ammunition depot in Donetsk region, and the latter sent this information to a representative of the Russian Federation via WhatsApp. The men pleaded not guilty in court.
