In Kherson, the case of a local resident accused of directing Russian strikes on the city was brought to court. According to the investigation, the man collaborated with the enemy and passed on information that was used for targeted shelling.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the indictment was filed under the article on high treason.

Investigators found that in the spring of 2025, the suspect collected and transmitted to Russian curators data on the location and movement of the Ukrainian military, checkpoints, military equipment, as well as the coordinates of critical and strategic infrastructure connecting the left and right banks of the Kherson region. To do this, he used Google tags.

The Russian troops used the information to launch attacks on Kherson, including with the use of air weapons. After the shelling, the accused additionally informed the occupiers about the consequences of the attacks.

The man was detained in August 2025. During the searches, mobile phones, data storage devices and a system unit containing evidence of cooperation with the enemy were seized from him. He is currently in custody and will await a court decision. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by SBU investigators in Kherson region.

Last year, the SBU detained a 26-year-old nurse at a city hospital in Kherson who was suspected of collaborating with the Russian FSB. According to the investigation, he was passing intelligence to the occupiers to direct bombs and kamikaze drones at Ukrainian positions.

Law enforcement officers found out that the man was recruited by his former neighbor - after the de-occupation of Kherson, he moved to Russia and kept in touch from there. During the search, they found a smartphone with evidence of information transfer to the enemy. The nurse was notified of suspicion of disseminating information about the Armed Forces. The sanction of the article provides for up to 12 years in prison.
