In Mykolaiv, unknown persons spray painted a memorial plaque in honor of fallen soldier Yevhen Loginov.

According to Suspilne.Mykolaiv, the incident occurred on February 24, the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion.

According to the father of the deceased, Oleksandr Loginov, he and his wife saw the damaged board in the afternoon and immediately began to clean it.

"I spent an hour washing the paint. They desecrated the memory of my son. It hurts a lot," he said.

The parents of the deceased appealed to the police and urge anyone who might have seen the vandals to report it.

"Only non-humans could have done this. I would like to look them in the eye and ask them why," Oleksandr added.

This is not the first act of vandalism against the memory of Yevhen Loginov. Earlier, unknown persons dug up the bushes near the memorial plaque planted by his family.

The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and looking for the perpetrators.

Earlier, the grave of a deceased servicewoman was desecrated in a village in Mykolaiv region. Law enforcement officers are taking measures to identify the persons involved in the crime and bring them to justice.

Cases of vandalism in the south of the country are not uncommon. For example, in June, a contractor who receives budget funds for the improvement of green areas removed flags with the names of fallen soldiers from the park near the destroyed building of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration. The wife of the fallen defender found the flags nearby - some were dirty, torn and covered in cobwebs.

Also in Mykolaiv, unknown persons cut a cable from an electric car charging column. This is the third incident in September. Mykolaivoblteploenergo noted that work to restore the charging stations is already underway, and the police are searching for the vandals.

In May, vandals destroyed plastic garbage cans. The reason was arson. The damage amounted to over UAH 100 thousand. In 2023, Mykolaiv residents damaged 87 plastic containers for household waste collection. In total, MykolaivkomunTrans approved 87 garbage containers for write-off, 48 of which were burned.
