In the Kherson region, one of the hospitals of the Velyko Oleksandrivska community is repairing underground facilities and a protective structure for patients and staff.
This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
In particular, a significant part of the work in the underground hospital has already been completed with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine. Currently, representatives of the charitable organization are completing the arrangement of the simplest shelter, which is located directly under the surgical building of the institution.
The operating room and post-operative wards have already been fully prepared in this protective space, which will allow medical care to be provided even in times of danger. The builders have also equipped the necessary amenities, including bathrooms, showers, and a separate room for medical staff. The total cost of this stage of the project is UAH 9 million.
At the same time, with the support of the United Nations Development Program, the reconstruction of the radiation shelter located under the hospital's administrative building is underway. As of today, the facility is about 40% complete. Construction crews have already managed to cover the walls and ceiling, install new doors, and lay modern sewerage and electricity networks . In the near future, the specialists plan to start installing heat and water supply systems.
Earlier, the Velyka Oleksandrivka village council took the first step towards a large-scale reconstruction of the water supply system. An official contract was signed with a private company to develop design and estimate documentation.
It is a major overhaul of a strategically important water supply system - from the Zhdanivka water intake to the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka. The contract value is UAH 750,000, which will be allocated from the local budget. The procurement was conducted without the use of an electronic system, and the contractor was a private enterprise, Profile-M, from Rivne.
