A 40-year-old resident of Komyshany asked the police department to evacuate her and her four children as soon as possible after another enemy attack. Three girls aged 15 and 12, as well as a 7-year-old boy, could no longer stand the constant fear for their lives and hiding in the basement from "enemy aircraft."

According to the Kherson regional police, the Russian army mercilessly shells the regional center every day. Residents of the coastal neighborhoods of Korabelny and Dniprovsky districts, which are within range of enemy artillery, drones, mortars, and tanks, are particularly affected. These areas include Komyshany.

"Therefore, on December 12, police officers of Police Department No. 2 (Korabelny) together with colleagues from Police Department No. 2 (Oleshkivskyi) of the Kherson District Department evacuated the family from this dangerous settlement," the statement said.

The police developed an evacuation plan and, choosing a safe time between Russian shelling, came to help the family. Law enforcement officers put on personal protective equipment (special bulletproof vests and helmets) for all the children and quickly took the whole family to a safe place in an armored car. To help the girls and boy adapt to their new home as quickly as possible, a juvenile prevention worker gave them toys - guardian bunnies.

Kherson police are urging residents of the coastal areas, especially families with children, to move to safe places. Police evacuation teams are constantly providing assistance to everyone who needs it. So if you decide to evacuate from dangerous settlements, please contact your local police department, call 102, local authorities or volunteer organizations. You can also find out information about evacuation by calling the Kherson Regional Military Administration hotline: 0800-33-09-51.
