Two residents of the Kherson region, who held senior positions in the occupation authorities in the region, have been served with suspicion notices.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The report says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, two residents of the region were served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in September 2022, the 73-year-old suspect took up the position of the so-called "head of the Dmitrovsky territorial administration of the Kakhovka municipal district". While holding the pseudo-position, he was engaged in the employment of people in the occupation administration and utilities, organized and controlled the replacement of Ukrainian documents with Russian ones by local residents. The second suspect, a 31-year-old man, became the so-called "deputy head of the Genicheskaya VGA" in May 2023. He was responsible for housing and communal services. In particular, he participated in meetings of the illegal specialized "ministry" on preparations for the autumn-winter period, and performed other organizational and administrative functions.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.
Earlier it was reported that under the procedural supervision of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, indictments against three local residents on the fact of collaboration (Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) were sent to court. The investigation established that during the occupation of Kherson, the defendants were employed in senior positions in the occupation administration of the city.
It was also reported that, based on SBU materials, the pseudo-minister of ecology of Kherson region was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison
