Two occupiers' accomplices are suspected in Kherson region

Two residents of Kherson region are suspected of collaboration for participating in pseudo-elections

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Kherson regional prosecutor's office, two residents of the region were served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in 2023, the suspects took part in an illegal electoral process organized by the occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied left-bank part of Kherson region.

It is noted that one of the suspects headed the "Kalanchak Territorial Election Commission" to ensure the conduct of illegal "elections". Together with the members of this "commission", she participated in the work of the "territorial election committee", ensured the formation and functioning of "precinct election commissions", organized and conducted illegal elections of deputies of the so-called "council of deputies of the Kalanchak municipal district of the first convocation". The press service said that another suspect became a deputy of the "council of deputies of the Kakhovka municipal district of the first convocation" following the election results. She was subsequently elected a member of the Standing Committee on Land and Agriculture of this "council of deputies". The suspects are assisting the aggressor state in integrating the seized settlements of Kherson region into Russia, helping to build the structures of illegal "authorities".

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the SBU investigators in Kherson region and the Main Department of the National Police in the region.

Earlier it was reported that the investigation against the occupying head of the village of Tomina Balka was completed. The woman collected passport data of the local population to subordinate the life of the community to the occupation authorities. She hired laborers without proper registration and paid salaries in rubles.
