On February 9, the Primorskyi Court of Odesa began consideration of the case of the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, Yevhen Borysov, who is accused of unauthorized abandonment of his place of service and obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yevhen Borysov himself did not admit his guilt in court, and the hearing was interrupted by an air raid alert, so the court adjourned until March 14, Suspilne reported.

During the hearing, the prosecutor read out two indictments, after which judge Larisa Yershova identified the accused. Yevhen Borysov stated that he was a victim in these cases, not guilty. And his lawyer , Oleksandr Makovetskyi, said that the charges against his client were meaningless.

The court also determined the procedure for examining the evidence. After hearing all the parties, the judge ruled on the spot that they would be examined in each case separately: first, written evidence, then witnesses, and then the accused. However, she noted that the witnesses would be questioned on two indictments at a time, as they are repeated in the cases.

Each case, which was merged into one on January 15, 2025, and is being considered by the Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa, contains about 40 volumes of materials. However, only those that the prosecutor's office considers relevant evidence will be read out at the hearing.

In January 2026, the Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa decided to cancel the bail measure imposed on the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Manning and Social Support, Yevhen Borysov, and return 20 million to those who had contributed funds.

Thecourt decided to merge two criminal proceedings against Yevhen Borysov into one case. The case is about unauthorized leaving of military service and obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was also left with only one bail - in the amount of 44 million hryvnias.
