In Mykolaiv, a court sentenced a 53-year-old local resident who was engaged in pro-Russian campaigning on the Internet to five years in prison.
This was reported by the SBU Office in Mykolaiv region.
The offender, who was detained in May 2025, was found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of the lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine).
The main aggravating circumstance was that the man had already been convicted of spreading pro-Kremlin propaganda, but did not reform and repeated the crime during his probationary period.
According to the investigation, the man published hostile content in comments on Telegram channels, using an anonymous account for conspiracy, but SBU cyber specialists identified him anyway.
He openly supported the actions of the invaders and promoted typical Russian narratives, claiming that the occupiers were fighting "fascism" and justified the so-called "denazification" on the territory of Ukraine. SBU-initiated examinations confirmed the facts of his subversive activities.
In addition, enemy propagandists are distributing maps showing Ukrainian regions as part of the Russian Federation, which is part of the information campaign on the annexation of Ukrainian territories. Publications with these maps are actively distributed through telegram channels, social networks and propaganda media. The regions of the South, such as Crimea, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa, are also included in the map.
Earlier, the occupiers' propagandists published in the local media in the TOT of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv regions and Transnistria a material about new geographical maps of Russia, which indicate that the Russian Federation includes Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa regions and Crimea within their administrative boundaries.
