Three occupation heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from Crimea will be tried for treason

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

The post says that the autonomy's prosecutor's office has sent to court indictments against three former employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who defected to the enemy. They are charged with treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and face up to 15 years in prison.

The investigation established that two of the defendants had been working as the First Deputy Head of the Main Department - Head of the Investigation Department of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Deputy Head of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Sevastopol since 2012. However, after the occupation of the peninsula, the latter betrayed their oath and joined the enemy, taking up the positions of "Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea - Head of the Investigation Department" and "Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol - Head of the Investigation Department".

Another defendant served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2000-2006, and from 2007 to 2014 held various positions in the Myrhorod City Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Poltava Region and the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kharkiv Region, resigning in July 2014. After that, in order to be employed in the law enforcement agencies of the occupying state, he arrived in Crimea and began working in the occupation bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and in 2016 he was appointed "Head of the Police Department No. 2 "Livadia" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the city of Yalta".

It is noted that by their actions, the accused contributed to the creation and functioning of the occupation bodies of internal affairs on the peninsula, as well as assisted representatives of a foreign state in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.

The special pre-trial investigation was carried out by the SBU investigators in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
