After the attack, theOrlovka ferry complex resumed its work in a test mode.

According to the operational headquarters of the Izmail Regional Military District, one ferry is operating on the line with an estimated frequency of departure once an hour.

"The ferry is currently available for pedestrians, cars and trucks (TIR). Buses are temporarily not allowed," the headquarters added.

The Reni community of Izmail district plans to build a bridge crossing over the Danube River to provide road connections between Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

According to bessarabiainform, the bridge is to be built between the Ukrainian village of Orlivka and the Romanian city of Isaccea.

"It is expected that after the bridge is put into operation, the distance to the Romanian city of Isaccea will be reduced by about 80 km," the report said.

Due to military operations and the blockade of the ports of Greater Odesa, the flow of trucks through the crossing has doubled. Currently, the bulk of the vehicles are container ships with grain heading to the port of Constanta. The distance from Isakci to Constanta is about 160 kilometers. If this flow were to go through Moldova, the cost of shipping one container of grain would increase by $200-300.

In addition, the investors in the construction of the Orlivka-Isaccea ferry crossing intended to create a passenger terminal to serve cruise ships near the crossing.

In February 2023, the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company announced plans to establish cooperation with the Orlivka-Isakcha ferry complex.
