The Odesa and Mykolaiv regions lead the way in terms of falling food prices in Ukraine

The Odesa and Mykolaiv regions showed the most significant decline in consumer prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages among all regions of Ukraine. 

This is according to data from the Main Statistical Office in the Odesa region.

In June 2026, compared to May, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions fell by 1.6%—the largest decline among all regions of the country.

By comparison, the average decline across Ukraine was -0.8%.

A similar trend can be observed in the dynamics of overall consumer prices.

In the Mykolaiv region, they fell by 0.9%—the largest decline among the regions. The Odesa region also saw a significant drop—by 0.5%—ranking second in this regard. Meanwhile, the average figure for Ukraine was -0.1%.

The smallest decline in food prices was recorded in the Chernihiv region, where prices actually rose by 0.3%. A slight increase was also observed in the Kirovohrad (+0.1%) and Kherson (0.0%) regions.

Cherkasy (-0.1%) and Zhytomyr (-0.2%) regions showed a moderate decline in prices. Next in terms of price declines were the Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions, with decreases ranging from 0.4% to 0.6%.

The Volyn, Zakarpattia, and Lviv regions saw a 0.7% decline, while Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, and Rivne regions saw declines ranging from 0.9% to 1.0%. The Sumy and Ternopil regions recorded a 1.2% decline, the Poltava region a 1.3% decline, and the Chernivtsi region a 1.4% decline.

Here, the picture is reversed: the highest price increases were recorded in Zaporizhzhia Oblast (+0.6%), as well as in Kirovohrad and Cherkasy Oblasts (both +0.3%). The Kherson and Chernihiv regions showed an increase of 0.2%, and the Kharkiv region—0.1%.

In the Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi regions, prices remained unchanged (0.0%).

A slight decrease was recorded in the Donetsk region, Kyiv, Luhansk, and Lviv regions (all -0.1%), as well as in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, and Sumy regions (all -0.2%). The Vinnytsia, Kyiv, and Poltava regions recorded a 0.3% drop, while the Ternopil region saw a 0.4% decline.
