The Voznesensk District Prosecutor’s Office has filed a lawsuit seeking to terminate a contract for the procurement of construction services worth nearly 47 million hryvnias.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The contract for the procurement of work on the major overhaul of part of the heat supply network in the city of Pivdennoukrainsk, between the Construction and Repair Department of the Pivdennoukrainsk City Council and the contractor, was signed in 2025. Under the terms of the contract, the contractor was required to complete a significant amount of work by June 2026. However, in reality, no budget funds were allocated for these purposes, and the preparatory and construction-installation work never began. Thus, it is impossible to fulfill the terms of the contract within the deadlines specified in the document.

The prosecutor’s office notes that the situation poses a risk of inefficient use of budget funds and is not in the interests of the state or the local community. This assessment takes into account the lack of budget funding and the dynamic nature of the contract price in the context of inflation.

Earlier, the 56-year-old director of a hospital in the Mykolaiv region was notified that he was suspected of official negligence. He is accused of embezzling nearly 11 million in budget funds. According to investigators, between 2021 and 2023, the hospital director signed monthly reports claiming that a full range of medical services had been provided and ensured their submission to the National Health Service of Ukraine. In reality, the hospital lacked the specialists and necessary technical equipment to fulfill the terms of these contracts. Nevertheless, reports were submitted claiming that the services had been successfully provided.

As a reminder, a municipal military administration has been established in Pivdennoukrainsk. It is headedby Ivan Kukhta, the former head of the Snigurivka Municipal Military Administration.

Earlier, Intent reported that a military administration might be introducedin Pivdennoukrainskdue to the city council’s prolonged inability to hold sessions and make decisions important to the community.
