Starting July 1, waste collection and disposal rates for two municipal utilities in Mykolaiv may increase. The need to adjust service rates is attributed to rising fuel prices, increased labor costs, and requirements under current legislation.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations, citinga draft decision by the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The document was drafted based on requests from the management of the municipal enterprises “Mykolaivkomtrans” and “Obriy-DKP.” The new rates were calculated in accordance with the government’s tariff-setting procedure, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

For the municipal enterprise "Mykolaivkomtrans," the proposed tariff for household waste disposal is set at 308.42 UAH per ton or 47.50 UAH per cubic meter, including VAT.

The following rates for waste collection and transportation are also proposed for the company:

For the municipal enterprise "Obriy-DKP," the draft decision sets the following rates:

The city council notes that the main components of the tariff are fuel costs, employee wages, taxes and fees, as well as the enterprises’ administrative expenses.

According to calculations, the production cost of waste disposal for the municipal enterprise "Mykolaivkomtrans" exceeds 37.8 million hryvnias, while the total planned cost of the service is nearly 45.8 million hryvnias. At the same time, the projected annual volume of waste to be disposed of exceeds 178,000 tons.

Along with the approval of the new rates, there are plans to revoke previous decisions of the executive committee adopted in 2024 and 2025. Municipal enterprises will be instructed to notify residents in advance of the change in service costs.

In May, the executive committee considered raising the tariffs of the municipal enterprise "ELU Avtodor" for processing debris from demolitions for other communities and third-party clients. The base tariff could increase by nearly 17%.
