The former head of the education and science department of the Kherson Regional State Administration , Tetiana Yushko, has become the deputy mayor of Kherson, who is currently being held captive by the Russians.

Intent learned that Yushko is the deputy mayor from the website of the Kherson City Council. It should be noted that on June 28, 2022, Mayor Kolikhayev arrived at one of the municipal institutions where employees of the city executive committee worked and, as soon as he got out of the car, he was detained by armed Russian security forces. It is not known where he is now.

Earlier, at the request of the CPR, the local authorities explained that due to martial law, the powers of the Kherson City Council, its executive committee and the Kherson mayor are exercised by the head of the Kherson City Military Administration Roman Mrochko, and the city council has no head.

"At present, the position of acting mayor does not exist in the Kherson City Council and its executive bodies," reads the response to the CPR's request.

However, this did not prevent the head of the MBA from introducing a new person to the city council.

Previously, Tetyana Yushko was the chief of staff of the Beryslav District State Administration. Then she took the position of director of the Fontansky Rural Consumer Society, which is registered in the Odesa region and is engaged in the lease and operation of both owned and leased real estate.

In September 2021, Yushko became the head of the Department of Education and Science of the Kherson Regional State Administration. In 2024, she received the honorary title of Honored Education Worker of Ukraine.

Earlier, the head of the Kherson MVA terminated the powers of Kherson City Council members Oksana Matusevych from the Servant of the People party and Yuriy Rozhkov from Ihor Kolikhaiev 's We Live Here party. Both orders state that the deputies resigned on the basis of personal statements.
