A delegation of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine visited Kherson region, which has been actively supporting local residents since the beginning of the de-occupation of the region.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Department.

Yaroslav Shanko, Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Department of Internal Affairs, met with representatives of the DRB to summarize the results of the initiatives already implemented and plan further projects. Currently, more than 45 thousand internally displaced persons are registered with the social security authorities of the region, of whom 33.5 thousand live in de-occupied settlements.

All of them need help with the restoration of documents, legal advice, housing, medicines, drinking water, humanitarian support and financial payments from international donors.

"We have agreed with our partners that group counseling, first aid training and legal support will continue in 2025. Thank you for your willingness to help our people despite all the risks," said Yaroslav Shanko.

The Danish Council provides assistance in the field of social and legal protection: it advises citizens, supports court cases of vulnerable categories of the population, conducts group classes on human rights and mechanisms for their protection in the communities of Kherson and Beryslav districts. The organization also arranges social spaces and provides psychological support.

A large family from the Kherson region moved into a new home in Ivano-Frankivsk. The family purchased the house for comfortable living at the expense of a state subvention. The total cost of the house is UAH 4.7 million.

Since the beginning of 2025, Russian troops have carried out about 650 attacks on the Kherson region using drones. Seven people were killed and 55 others were injured in these attacks.

Recently, a new police station has been opened in the Bilozerska community of Kherson region. The new station will be staffed by both law enforcement and the local fire department.
