Solar eclipse in Odesa region

The solar eclipse on October 25 will last until November 8. The unique astronomical phenomenon will begin today in Ireland and end in the Arabian Sea, TSN reports.

Such eclipses are very rare, and the next one will take place only in 2040, it is repeated every 18 years. Scientists call this eclipse Saros 124.

The eclipse on October 25 is partial.

Starting from 09:22:46 Kyiv time, it will be visible to residents of Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, northeast Africa, and Western Siberia.

The peak of the eclipse will be at 10:36 a.m. Kyiv time. In Ukraine, the moon will be visible as it covers part of the sun (more than 60% of the solar disk) from about 9 am to 12 pm.

If the weather is favorable, this rare astronomical phenomenon will be possible to enjoy for almost 2.5 hours.

Ukrainians will be able to observe the eclipse at 12:22 Kyiv time, the maximum phase will occur at 13:36, and will end at 14:49.

Doctors warn against using the folk method of observing through smoked glass, do not advise doing it through binoculars or telescopes, as well as sunglasses, polarizing filters or photographic film.
