There are now more places in Odesa where it is officially permitted to relax by the sea. Seven more beach areas have been added to the list of those open to the public.

This was reported by the Odessa Regional State Administration.

In total, there are now 48 beach areas available in the Odesa region. Of these, 47 are located in Odesa and one is in Chornomorsk.

The list of areas authorized for recreation is updated as they pass the necessary inspections. Among the accessible beaches are “Langeron,” “Delfin,” “Arkadia,” “Kurortny,” “Zolotyi Bereg,” “Vidrada,” “Velykofontansky,” “Chaika,” as well as municipal and accessible beaches.

The Regional State Administration emphasizes that safety rules must be followed while vacationing on the coast. In the event of an air raid alert, vacationers must immediately leave the beach and proceed to a shelter.

Authorities also reminded the public that only those beach areas that have passed the necessary inspections and are officially included in the list of authorized beaches are open to visitors.

As previously reported by Intent, on June 23, during a Russian attack on Odesa using strike drones, a 26-year-old woman was killed on Vidrada Beach. A piece of shrapnel from a downed drone struck her in the neck, killing her instantly. Another person was injured.

At the time, Odessa authorities stated that this beach is not officially included in the list of places where recreation is permitted.

It was also reported that the Odessa City Council had announced a tender for the reconstruction of a section of Vidrada Beach. Plans call for equipping the coastline with facilities to ensure unimpeded access and aquatic rehabilitation for people with disabilities and other mobility-impaired groups.

A budget of 29 million hryvnias has been allocated for the work. The project will be funded from the local budget.
