In Kiliya, Odesa region, local authorities planned to convert the basement of a school into a bomb shelter. A contractor is currently being sought.
The budget for the work was set at UAH 852,488, according to the Center for Public Investigations.
The open bidding with special features on the Prozorro platform was announced by the Executive Committee of the Kiliya City Council on October 31.
It is about the current repair of the basement of the Kiliia Secondary School No. 4.
The customer expects the contractor to complete all the basement refurbishment works by December 20 this year. Bidders can submit their proposals until November 11, and the winner will be selected on the same day.
According to the project, it is planned to level the concrete floor, carry out finishing and electrical work, install ventilation, bathrooms, and washbasins. It is also necessary to lay a sewer system and install two entrances. All works will be financed from the local budget.
Recently, the Department of Housing, Construction, Improvement and Infrastructure Development of the Kuyalnytsia Village Council of Podilskyi District, Odesa Oblast, announced a second tender to select a builder for a school shelter in the village of Malyi Fontan.
Meanwhile, the Dachne village council in Odesa Oblast is preparing to sign an agreement with a contractor for the construction of a school radiation shel ter that will be able to withstand a nuclear explosion.
By the way, the Capital Construction Department of the Odesa City Council has ordered major repairs to the school at 10 Mykhailivska Square, which was damaged by a Russian missile strike. The main works include replacing the windows. However, the windows were already replaced in the spring at the expense of a charitable foundation.
