Yesterday, on December 29, the Russian military once again shelled residential areas in the region. As a result of Russian aggression, 1 person was killed and 4 others were injured.

According to Oleksandr Rrokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the Russian military damaged 3 high-rise buildings and 7 private houses. The occupants also damaged a garage and private cars. 30 settlements of the region came under enemy fire and air strikes: Antonivka, Pryozerne, Bilozerka, Velytenske, Kizomys, Stanislav, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Ivanivka, Poniativka, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Zmiivka, Lvov, Novoberislav, Mykhailivka, Burgunka, Zamozhne, Novoraysk, Novokaira, Novooleksandrivka, Mylove, Chervonyi Mayak, Monastyrske, Tomaryne, Tyahynka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Vesele and the city of Kherson.

At noon, the Russian military dropped explosives from a drone on a resident of Stanislav. The woman, born in 1984, sustained an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to her leg. In Tyahyntsi, a local resident was killed by a Russian UAV attack. The occupants dropped explosives from a drone on a civilian car. The man died on the spot from his injuries. He is currently being identified.

In the evening, the Russian military shelled Dniprovsky district of Kherson. A 62-year-old man was injured as a result of an artillery strike. He sustained an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to the face. At about 21:30, residents of Antonivka came under attack from an enemy drone. A 62-year-old man and a woman were injured as a result of the drone's explosive drop. The victim was diagnosed with explosive trauma and shrapnel wounds to his legs. His wife sustained a contusion and a fracture of her shins.

The day before, on December 28, Russian troops also shelled social infrastructure and residential areas of the region's settlements. As a result of Russian aggression, 13 people were injured, including 2 children. And last week, the Ukrainian Defense Forces foiled the plans of the Russian occupiers to land sabotage and reconnaissance groups near Kherson in the right-bank part of Kherson region. On that day, Kherson suffered the largest shelling since 2022. The explosions did not stop from four in the morning. Russian troops fired from all types of weapons available to them, firing more than 1,000 shells. There is not a single neighborhood that was not affected.

Most of the strikes hit residential areas. Rescuers extinguished more than a dozen fires. Medics, law enforcement and utility workers were on the scene. At the same time, pro-Russian telegram channels were actively spreading fake reports about the alleged forced evacuation of Kherson residents. However, this information was untrue and aimed at creating panic among the population. The head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim assured of his readiness to help Kherson residents if necessary.
