Russian aggression kills 6 people in Kherson region, wounds 26 others

Over the past day, more than 50 settlements in Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson, came under Russian drone attacks, artillery shelling and air strikes.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Military District Administration, six people were killed and 26 others were wounded, including one child.

According to him, Russian troops attacked critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential areas of the region's settlements. The attacks damaged three multi-storey buildings and five private houses. The occupiers also vandalized an administrative building, a cell tower and private cars.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office noted that pre-trial investigations into the war crimes have been initiated under Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, on June 3, the Russian military launched an air strike on the region, as well as fired artillery at settlements in Kherson region and attacked with drones.

As of 5:30 p.m., law enforcement officials reported five dead and 19 wounded, including a 17-year-old boy. Four civilians were killed as a result of artillery shelling of localities in the region, and another person was fatally wounded in a drone attack in Kherson.

Artillery shelling and drone strikes also affected civilians in Kherson and other communities in the region. In total, dozens of people were injured.

In addition to residential buildings, a dormitory, hospital, administrative building and vehicles were damaged.

Prosecutors and police investigators continue to document the consequences of the Russian attacks and collect evidence of war crimes.

The JMA reminded that residents of the region who wish to leave for safer places can contact the regional contact center for assistance with evacuation.
