Restoration of Izmail Children's and Youth Sports School gym after drone attack estimated at 8 million

On May 5, the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Izmail City Council signed a direct contract without a tender with the company of city council member Igor Dekhtyarev, Rodnik, to repair the sports facility that suffered from an enemy attack.

The cost of the work is UAH 8 million. The funds will be allocated from the local budget. It is a municipal institution of out-of-school education "Sports and Recreation Center", which is managed by the city department of physical culture and sports. The facility houses the gymnasium of the Izmail Children and Youth Sports School. The building was damaged after a shakedown attack on Izmail on the night of April 29.

According to the technical documentation of the procurement, it is planned to repair the roof and facade of the building. Workers will dismantle the old roofing, gutters, parapets and patching, strengthen and partially replace the rafter structures, install waterproofing and a new metal tile roof, install windows, cornices and a drainage system. The repair of parapets and metal fences and painting of metal structures are also planned. Scaffolding will be installed on the façade, damaged plaster and masonry elements will be dismantled, brick walls will be restored, plastered, and puttyed. The facade will be painted. The basement will be tiled. Additionally, it is planned to install a metal staircase to the attic, remove construction waste and other related work.

Under the terms of the contract, the contractor is to complete all this by November 30, 2026. In late April, another drone attack on civilian and critical infrastructure in the city damaged residential buildings, cars, and the Central District Hospital of the Safianivka Village Council.
