Residents of Kherson Will Receive Over 17 Million for Lost Homes

In Kherson, compensation payments were approved for 10 more applicants whose homes were destroyed as a result of Russian aggression. The total amount of the payments is 17,434,583.60 hryvnias.

This was reported by the Kherson City Military Administration.

During a regular meeting of the commission for the assessment and provision of compensation for destroyed real estate, chaired by Deputy Mayor Vitaliy Petryk, compensation payments were approved for 10 applicants to purchase housing.

The commission also resumed consideration of two applications. For two other applicants, consideration of their applications was terminated at their request due to a change in the type of compensation.

In addition, a remote inspection is planned for 25 properties that, according to preliminary assessments, have sustained significant damage and are likely beyond repair or reconstruction.

The Kherson Regional Military Administration reminded residents that inspections of damaged or destroyed housing and the review of compensation applications are conducted free of charge in accordance with current legislation. Community residents are urged not to use the services of intermediaries.

Recently, the commission has already approved more than 1,400 decisions to grant compensation totaling 462 million hryvnias. More than 400 families have received housing certificates that allow them to purchase new housing to replace their destroyed homes.

Earlier,Anton Samoilenko, deputy head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, stated that as of April 2026, the total amountof compensationpaid out stood at 5.6 billion hryvnias.

In total, as of April 2026, approximately 42,000 damaged or destroyed homes had been recorded in the Kherson region, of which about 7,000 were completely destroyed.
