A resident of the Hornostayivska community in Kherson region was publicly found guilty of collaboration (Part 1 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The court sentenced the man to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property, and in particular, deprived him of the right to hold positions related to the performance of organizational, administrative and economic functions in state bodies, local governments or bodies providing public services, and to participate in the electoral process for a period of 13 years.

The prosecutor proved that in 2023, the collaborator ran for the so-called deputy council of the Hornostayivska village community from the United Russia party. After being elected, he headed the 'commission' on land and agriculture, thereby facilitating the functioning of the occupation authorities in the community.

The sentence was passed in absentia. He will serve his sentence from the moment of detention.

Investigators of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office have served a new suspicion on former member of the Bilozersk Village Council, Iryna Kozlenkova.

According to the investigation, during the Russian occupation of Bilozerka, Kozlenkova cooperated with the occupation authorities. In the summer of 2022, she became the head of the so-called 'Bilozerka Military-Civilian Administration'.

Law enforcers found that on September 9, 2022, speaking at the event "We are together with Russia" organized by the occupiers, she publicly called on local residents to support joining Russia. From the stage, Kozlenkova said: ''I urge you to decide with whom we will live further... shall we join the Russian Federation?
