Porsche and Mercedes have taken over the market: Odesa region among the leaders of the premium segment

In 2025, a record low number of premium cars were imported to Ukraine - only 504, which is three times less than a year earlier. Of these, 49 were registered in the Odesa region. The premium segment was dominated by Porsche and Mercedes-Benz, while electric cars took almost two-thirds of the luxury car market.

This is evidenced by the analysis of the Opendatabot monitoring system.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 2025, 504 cars subject to the "luxury tax" were imported into Ukraine. This is the lowest number in the last five years and 3.2 times less than a year earlier.

Two brands account for almost 89% of this segment - Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. Porsche Taycan became the absolute leader: 232 cars, that is, every second car on the list of "luxury" cars. In total, Porsche covers 64% of the market of cars with additional taxation, while Mercedes-Benz covers another 126 cars, or about a quarter. Other premium brands, including Audi, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and Maserati, together account for 11%.

Electric cars dominate the premium segment, with a 65% share. Hybrid models account for 18%, gasoline models - 17%, and diesel models - only 0.4%.

Most of these cars are registered in Kyiv and the region - 236. There are 52 cars in Lviv region, 49 in Odesa region, and 37 in Dnipro region. According to the map, there are 3 cars subject to the luxury tax in Mykolaiv region and 2 in Kherson region.

The most expensive cars are registered for individuals - 82% or 413 cars. Businesses account for 18%.

The ultra-premium segment stands out: last year, 21 Rolls-Royces were imported into the country, 15 of which were the electric Spectre model worth about $600,000. There were also 7 Aston Martins and 2 Lamborghinis registered.

The "luxury tax" applies to cars worth more than 3.2 million hryvnias and less than five years old. The tax rate is 25 thousand hryvnias per year for each such car.

At the same time, almost half a million cars were imported to Ukraine from abroad in 2025: 23,382 cars were imported to Odesa region. According to this indicator, Odesa region was ahead of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions and ranked sixth in Ukraine.
