A specialized center has been opened for the residents of Kherson, where families with children can receive comprehensive assistance. The center's specialists will focus on social, educational, and psychological support for families currently in crisis.

Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson MBA, reported this in a Telegram message.

Shanko spoke about the launch of the Center for Support of Children and Families from the SOS Children's Villages charitable foundation. This space is designed to become an oasis of safety for families who face the challenges of war every day.

Here, children and parents will be able to receive not only educational or social assistance, but also professional psychological support to recover from the occupation and constant stress. For a frontline city, such a center is a critical place of care and emotional healing.

Voznesensk also allocated UAH 1.5 million from the city budget to purchase apartments for internally displaced persons. The project is presented as a successful cooperation with philanthropists, but it has its own nuances: the city buys housing in poor condition, hoping for financial assistance from international partners to restore it.

Mayor Yevhen Velychko acknowledged that last year Voznesensk failed to take full advantage of the opportunities - the quota for eight apartments was not fully utilized. This year, the city received a similar limit and plans to use budget funds to buy out three objects that the mayor calls 'bare boxes' without heating.

The fate of this housing depends entirely on the charity organization Caritas, which has previously agreed to allocate up to $29,500 for the repair of each property.
