The janitor of the Black Sea Maritime Professional College of ONMU was notified of suspicion of aiding and abetting fraud and using forged documents during the seizure of an apartment in Chornomorsk. The property in question belonged to a deceased woman, and the legal heiress did not have time to formalize her rights.

This is evidenced by the ruling of the Kyiv District Court of Odesa.

According to the investigation, a group of people had developed a scheme to illegally re-register the apartment. For this purpose, they produced a fake passport and a fictitious deed of gift, allegedly concluded during the life of the homeowner. The documents indicated another person as the donor, but in fact this person had nothing to do with the apartment.

The suspect, who at the time worked as a janitor at the Black Sea Maritime Vocational College of ONMU, agreed to participate in the scheme as a performer. He provided his photo for a fake passport to be made and personally appeared at the notary's office, where he pretended to be the owner of the apartment. It was during this visit that the purchase and sale agreement was executed, on the basis of which the ownership of the real estate was registered in the state register.

Thus, the apartment was illegally alienated, and the rightful heiress lost her property. According to the investigation, the damage caused to her exceeds UAH 1.1 million. Subsequently, these circumstances became the basis for opening criminal proceedings and conducting examinations that confirmed the forgery of documents.

The judge, having considered the investigator's motion, concluded that there were risks of the suspect hiding and possible influence on other participants in the proceedings. In this regard, the court imposed a measure of restraint in the form of detention until March 12, 2026.

At the same time, the judge determined an alternative measure of restraint - bail in the amount of UAH 266,240. If the bail is paid, the suspect will be released from custody, but with procedural obligations.

The investigation is currently ongoing. Law enforcement officers are establishing the role of other persons who could have been involved in forging documents, organizing the transaction and subsequent resale of the apartment.

Also in early January, a court in Odesa seized documents in a criminal proceeding related to the development of the coastline in Kryzhanivka, where the Columbus residential complex is being built. The case is about the possible illegal withdrawal of more than 5 hectares of recreational and forest land from state ownership.
