Part of Odesa and the surrounding area lost power due to an accident

On the morning of August 22, a power outage occurred in the Peresypsky District of Odesa and part of the Odesa District.

According to DTEK “Odesa Power Grids,” the outage was caused by a localized accident.

According to the company, utility workers have already arrived at the scene of the accident and are working to repair the damage and restore power.

Also on Saturday, August 22, due to ongoing work, there may be brief power outages lasting up to one hour. In the Izmail district, these may occur from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and in parts of the Odesa district of the region—from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

According to DTEK, during a massive attack on the night of August 22, the enemy significantly damaged several of the company’s power facilities.

As soon as the utility workers received permission from the military and emergency responders, they immediately began emergency repair work.

It is noted that the facilities sustained significant damage, and restoring their operations will take time. Energy officials are warning of possible disruptions in the operation of critical infrastructure facilities.

As reported by Intent, the Odesa region endured yet another massive attack by Russian occupiers. Throughout the night, transportation, industrial, and energy infrastructure facilities, as well as residential buildings, came under enemy fire. Currently, one person is known to have been injured.

As a result of the attack, some towns and villages in the region experienced disruptions in electricity and water supply. 

Following the enemy attack on the southern part of the Odesa region on August 20, 13,000 customers were left without power. Utility workers were working to restore service, and local authorities stated that the Russians’ target was civilian infrastructure.
