Law enforcement officers detained a 36-year-old resident of the Safianivka community of Izmail district in Odesa region on suspicion of organizing the illegal transportation of Ukrainians liable for military service abroad.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region.
Law enforcement officers documented how the suspect found a 42-year-old client and promised to provide him with an official document on his removal from military registration for health reasons. The so-called "white ticket" would have allowed the man to cross the state border without hindrance.
Theservices cost $4,000, of which $1,500 had to be paid immediately and $2,500 upon receipt of the documents. The offender received the first part of the tranche personally, having met with the client in Odesa. He sent his friend, who was unaware of the transaction, to the regional center for the second one.
As soon as the money was handed over to the man, law enforcement officers detained him in Izmail. They seized his documents, phones, bank cards and other items of interest to the investigation. Investigators also seized as material evidence the funds received by the detainee from the client.

The police investigators served the suspect a notice of suspicion of facilitating the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine by giving advice, instructions, providing funds for mercenary purposes. According to Article 332 (3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, this crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to nine years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property.
The court imposed on the suspect a custodial measure of restraint with the right to be released on bail in the amount of UAH 757 thousand.
