On February 23, state environmental inspectors inspected the sites where Russian munitions hit the territory of Odesa region and recorded large-scale contamination of land with construction waste.
According to the press service of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District, an area of more than 1,000 square meters was contaminated.
The amount of damage was estimated at UAH 36.3 million, and all the information collected was transferred to the Operational Headquarters of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine for inclusion in the unified register of environmental damage caused by the war.
On the night of February 24, 2025, Russian troops struck at the civilian infrastructure of the Odesa region using attack drones. The wreckage of the downed drone damaged port facilities, the windows and roof of a private house, and several cars. There were no casualties or injuries.
Nevertheless, the February 19 attack left 14 schools, 13 kindergartens and more than 500 residential buildings in a large neighborhood without electricity and heating. In order to prevent accidents in the system, utilities are forced to drain water from the pipes. Hospitals, clinics and social infrastructure of the city suffered significant damage.
On February 13, around 18:10, Russia launched a missile attack on a port infrastructure facility in Odesa. It has been preliminarily established that the attack was carried out by an Iskander-M ballistic missile. But on the night of February 14, Russian troops carried out another attack with attack drones aimed at port facilities in the region.
On the night of February 12-13, Odesa region was subjected to a large-scale attack by Russian drones. Explosions were heard both in Odesa and in the region. The main impact was on Izmail district.
