Odesa Region Faces Drone Attack: One Injured and Infrastructure Damaged

On the night of February 13, Odesa region was subjected to a large-scale attack by Russian drones. Explosions were heard both in Odesa and in the region. The main blow fell on Izmail district.

According to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, one person was injured in the attack.

The air defense forces were actively working to destroy the kamikaze drones, but some of the targets hit the port infrastructure and the building of an active educational institution. In addition, the debris damaged a car carrying a woman. She sustained a hip injury and was hospitalized in moderate condition. Doctors provided her with the necessary assistance.

All relevant services are working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are recording the consequences of another terrorist attack by Russians against the civilian population of Odesa region," the statement said.

The air alert in Odesa region was announced at 21.14 on February 12. Shortly afterward, the Air Force reported the movement of enemy drones from the Black Sea.

Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov urged Odesa residents to stay in safe places and reported on the air defense in the city.

At 10:47 p.m., the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, warned of the threat of attack drones for the Izmail district of Odesa region.

"A large group of UAVs is in the south of Odesa region, some are approaching the border with Moldova," the Air Force reported.

The alert lasted for almost four hours, and was called off at 00:59 on February 13.
