Odesa-based Olvia Wine and Cognac Factory LLC has filed a lawsuit to compensate more than UAH 148 million in damages caused by Russian shelling. This refers to destroyed products in warehouses in Mykolaiv region as a result of drone attacks in 2024.
This is evidenced by the ruling of the Commercial Court of Mykolaiv Region.
According to the ruling, Olvia filed a lawsuit with the Commercial Court of Mykolaiv Region, demanding compensation from the Russian Federation represented by the Ministry of Justice. Initially, the amount of the claim was over UAH 118 million, which is the amount the company estimated to be worth of the products destroyed on September 15, 2024, during the shelling of warehouses in the village of Parutyne.
Subsequently, on January 20, 2026, the plaintiff increased the amount of the claim by almost UAH 30 million. The total amount of the claim increased to UAH 148.25 million (equivalent to about $3.48 million). The additional damages are related to another shelling that occurred on June 2, 2024, in the village of Prybuzke, where the company's products were also destroyed.
The court accepted the case for consideration in late January 2026 and opened proceedings. The plaintiff was ordered to send the defendant a notarized translation of court documents into Russian through the Russian Embassy in Poland. A preparatory hearing in the case was scheduled for May 18, 2026.
Olvia Brewery was registered in 2020 in Odesa and is engaged in the wholesale trade of beverages. Its sole owner is Oleksandr Tutur.
In February, a court in Washington allowed DTEK to start the enforcement of an arbitration award in the United States. It is about recovering more than USD 300 million for the seizure of its electricity assets in Crimea after the occupation of the peninsula.
