From now on, the 39th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade is officially called the 39th Separate Marine Brigade.

The 126th separate territorial defense brigade was formed in Odesa in early March 2022. In April, some of its units went to Mykolaiv region to perform combat missions aimed at liberating the southern regions of Ukraine from the enemy. The brigade received its baptism of fire in the territories associated with the history of the Black Sea Cossacks.
The unit's combat achievements include the liberation of Maksymivka, Zelenyi Hai, Krutyi Yar, Barvinok, Muzykivka, Tsentralne and the city of Kherson, as well as the defense of Mykolaiv.
On October 1, 2024, the President of Ukraine awarded the 126th Separate TRO Brigade of the Navy with the honorary award "For Courage and Bravery" and a ribbon to the Battle Flag.
On March 5, 2025, the brigade was transformed into the 39th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade. They repelled attacks by the Russian military near Chasovyi Yar. In addition, their soldiers were the first to cross to the left bank of the Dnipro River and held a bridgehead in Krynky, Kherson region.

On February 8, 2025, the brigade's fighters destroyed a boat with Russians who were trying to force the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.
Earlier, Intent wrote that Dmytro Korda, a soldier of the 126th Brigade of the Tank Corps, who held the line on the left bank of the Dnipro River for 88 days, received a high state award from President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. He was awarded for bravery and heroism.
