Russian troops shelled more than 35 settlements in Kherson region, including Kherson and Beryslav, killing one person and wounding 11 others. In Mykolaiv region, the enemy launched a missile from a Su-34 aircraft and attacked communities with drones.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Military District Administration, more than 35 settlements in the Kherson region came under attack by Russian troops over the past day. Among them are Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Beryslav, Kozatske and Kachkarivka. The occupiers attacked with drones, aircraft and artillery, targeting critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential areas.
The shelling damaged seven apartment buildings and eight private houses. Medical and educational institutions, a church, a bank building, an outbuilding and private cars were also destroyed.
One person was killed and 11 others were injured, including a child. During the night attack, the Air Defense Forces shot down two Shahed-131/136 drones over Kherson region.
According to Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Air Defense Administration, a missile was launched from a Su-34 aircraft over the Black Sea at around 12:00 on October 16. The type of aerial weapon is currently being established. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
In Mykolaiv district, the enemy attacked Ochakivska and Kutsurubska communities with FPV drones five times during the day, and at night, probably from a multiple rocket launcher system, attacked Voskresenska community. There were no casualties.
According to the General Staff, the enemy launched two missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, using 42 missiles, and carried out 100 air strikes, during which 206 guided bombs were dropped. In addition, the enemy conducted 4,553 attacks, including 118 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 6,184 kamikaze drones to hit targets.
On October 14, Russian troops attacked a humanitarian mission in the Bilozerska community of Kherson region. The occupiers used drones and artillery to strike, targeting the trucks of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. As a result of the shelling, one vehicle was completely burned down, and another was seriously damaged. Two other trucks managed to escape from the fire. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
