The Ukrainian military planted a flag on the Kinburn Peninsula using a drone to put psychological pressure on the enemy. Soldiers of the Mykolaiv-based 123rd Tank Brigade continue to defeat the occupiers in strategically important territory.

This was reported to Suspilne by the commander of the unmanned aerial vehicle unit of the 123rd separate territorial defense brigade with the call sign "Gulliver".

Mykolaiv servicemen from the 123rd separate territorial defense brigade are actively working on the Kinburn peninsula. The soldiers regularly attack the occupiers' positions with drones and use drones not only as weapons but also as a means of psychological influence.

Recently, the Ukrainian military dropped a state flag on one of the enemy's positions. According to the head of the unit, this operation was carried out from the air - a drone delivered the yellow and blue flag directly to the territory controlled by the Russians.

According to Gulliver, the actions of the Ukrainian defenders have not only a practical but also a moral and psychological goal: to demoralize the enemy and throw their command off balance.

Their command is furious because, well, the Ukrainian flag is on their positions," he said.

The military also hinted that the occupiers might receive "gifts" if they try to take down the flag, though he did not specify what exactly he meant.

Despite the fact that Russian forces have rotated on the peninsula, their activity remains limited. According to the unit's commander, the occupiers are being passive, but still use artillery and drones. At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers are systematically striking them with drones.

According to the military, the Kinburn Peninsula remains an important strategic area. It allows controlling the approaches to the Dnipro-Bug estuary, the Dnipro and Southern Bug rivers. Loss of control over this territory threatens Russia's plans to block Ukrainian ports and hinder economic activity in the region.

In August last year, special forces of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine conducted a successful raid on the temporarily seized Kinburn Spit. During the operation, they eliminated several dozen Russian soldiers, destroyed enemy armored vehicles and raised the flag of the Ukrainian military intelligence at a position called "Suvorov's Monument."
