Ukrainian Armed Forces Hold Island Zone in Kherson Region: Enemy Attempts to Land Fail

The Ukrainian military controls most of the islands in the Dnipro floodplain in Kherson region and successfully repels the occupiers' attacks. The enemy is deploying additional forces, but suffers losses and cannot implement its plans in this area.

This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to Voloshyn, the island part of the region is mostly under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. For several days, the Russians have been trying to land in the southern part, in particular on the islands of Nestryga, Kozulisky and Zabych, but all these attempts have been unsuccessful. The enemy was not even able to gain a foothold on any of the bridgeheads.

The main thing the enemy is doing in this area is trying to evacuate its losses and at least partially provide logistics for the remaining units. However, the occupants cannot realize their plans as we do not allow them to do so," emphasized the spokesman.

Also, near Antonivsky bridges, a few kilometers from the islands, Russian occupants are trying to get closer to Ukrainian positions, but are being repulsed there as well - our military successfully destroy the enemy.

The spokesman noted that the enemy is deploying infantry to attack in small groups. According to intelligence, an additional regiment has arrived in the region. He added that it will be destroyed in the same way as the previous units.

Recently, in Sumy region, Ukrainian paratroopers captured 15 Russian soldiers, including soldiers from the 810th Brigade from occupied Crimea, a unit known for its cruel treatment of prisoners and significant losses in the war.

In May, journalists published data on former Ukrainian soldiers who betrayed their oath and died in the ranks of the Russian army after 2014. The cases when such traitors came to the occupied territories to visit the families of their fallen comrades and claimed that they would now "protect" them on behalf of Russia were particularly cynical.
