Mykolaiv Region Allocates ₴929M for Road Maintenance Tenders by April 2026

Road maintenance tenders will be held in Mykolaiv region. More than UAH 900 million has been allocated for this purpose. The selected contractor will oversee the roads until May next year.

This is evidenced by data from the Prozorro public procurement system.

A tender for the operational maintenance of local public roads has been announced in Mykolaiv region. The customer is the state-owned enterprise Agency of Local Roads of Mykolaiv Region, and the winner must complete the work by May 2026.

The expected cost of the works is UAH 929 million 126 thousand 732.

The tender will be held under the open bidding procedure with a minimum price reduction step of 0.5% of the total amount. Participants must submit all documents in electronic form and provide a bank guarantee for UAH 250 thousand.

Participants can submit their bids until April 9, and the auction is scheduled for April 10. There is a possibility of prepayment of up to 30% of the cost of services. The final payment will be made after the services are provided based on the acts of work performed.

According to the tender documents, the works are to be carried out on public roads of local importance in Mykolaiv region, with a total length of 3314.4 kilometers.

Road maintenance has its own peculiarities, as the scope and types of work depend on the season and weather conditions. After winter and spring, it is necessary to carry out work in difficult weather conditions, eliminate the effects of natural disasters, ensure passage in the spring when the soil is waterlogged, and in summer to cope with road destruction due to high temperatures and other factors.

In 2024, funding for road repairs in Mykolaiv dropped to UAH 240 million, which is half as much as last year. Most of this amount was used by three large contractors, who effectively divided the market among themselves and almost completely eliminated competition in tenders. This makes it possible to inflate prices for construction materials and avoid proper quality control.

Recently, the Kherson Oblast Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service announced four tenders for major road repairs in the village of Posad Pokrovske, which was heavily damaged by Russian shelling. The total budget for these works is over UAH 580 million.
