Mykolaiv has the lowest average salary among Ukraine's southern regions, with Odesa leading the pack and Kherson coming in second.
This follows from the results of a study by Work.ua, published on the basis of data from 196,644 vacancies over the past three months.
According to the study, the average salary in Ukraine is UAH 22,500, which is 22% higher than in December last year. The highest salaries were recorded in Kyiv (UAH 25,000), Lviv (UAH 23,000), Uzhhorod (UAH 22,500), Dnipro (UAH 22,000) and Odesa (UAH 21,500).
However, in Mykolaiv, the average salary in the third quarter of 2024 was only UAH 18,400, which is significantly lower than in neighboring regions. This level is close to that of Zhytomyr (UAH 18,000), Kropyvnytskyi, Chernihiv (UAH 17,500), and Kryvyi Rih (UAH 17,000).
In Kherson, the average salary is UAH 19,200.

Earlier, Intent reported that the highest average salaries in the regional state administrations of Ukraine are paid by officials of Kherson Regional State Administration. The data was published by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. Officials of the Kherson Regional State Administration have the highest salaries among employees of other regional state administrations. It is noted that, in particular, the average salary there is UAH 53.2 thousand. The second place is occupied by Donetsk Regional State Administration with an average salary of UAH 40.4 thousand, and the 12th place in the list of average salaries is occupied by Odesa region, where the officials of the RSA have an average salary of UAH 33.3 thousand. Mykolaiv region is on the 16th place with an average salary of UAH 27.8 thousand.
In addition, journalists found out the salaries of the heads of the Kherson regional and city military administrations in November. Thus, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, received UAH 169,259. His salary amounted to just over 103 thousand hryvnias, the rest was bonuses and surcharges.
At the same time, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, received 55,207 UAH in November. Mrochko's salary is accrued as a military serviceman, as he was seconded from the Armed Forces, and payments are not made from the community budget
